This month we feature speaker processors.
With functions including crossovers, equalization, shelving
filters, time delay, compression, limiting, and signal routing,
the speaker processor
ensures your loudspeakers are getting optimal signal for their
function and placement. Let's start with
our company favorite, the Meyer Sound Galileo.

One of the most sophisticated processors available, the
Galileo loudspeaker management system is a hardware/software
system providing all of the facilities required to drive and
align sound reinforcement systems employing multiple zones.
The system consists of the Galileo 616/616 AES, a
six-input, 16-output fully digital matrix processor and
Compass control software for comprehensive control of the
Galileo unit through a graphical environment on a remote
computer. The Galileo 616/616 AES can also be
controlled directly from the front panel.

system. ~
Another line of great processors comes from
XTA.
 As
the demands placed on professional audio systems continue to
steadily increase, technology must advance to maintain the
expected quality and usability. That's where XTA
comes in.
Designed to operate at a native sampling rate
of 96kHz, the XTA 4-series offers each input channel a
28-band graphic equalizer and 8 bands of fully parametric
equalization. Each output path offers up to 9 parametric
filters in addition to the crossover filters. Each output
also features a standard limiter and a look-ahead limiter for
added safety, as well as time-delay.

~ Coming in with great
sound at comfortable price points, Ashly offers system
processors for every budget.

The Ashly Protea 4.24C is a four-input,
eight-output digital signal processor capable of precise control
of a broad range of audio functions. The front panel
interface allows quick access to all control parameters by
offering dedicated function buttons. The Protea 4.24C
utilizes state-of-the-art DSP technologies, beginning with 24
bit, 48kHz a/D converters. Each input
allows you to control gain, delay, and six filters (parametric,
high, or low shelf). Each output may be assigned to any
one or a combination of inputs, and offers four parametric,
high, or low shelf filters, time delay, output gain, and a
compressor/limiter for speaker protection.

The emergency: A corporate client
needs 7 wireless lavalier microphone systems that afternoon.
10:00 AM The Rental Manager
receives a call from the client. He is in need of 7
wireless lavalier microphone systems for a high-profile meeting
downtown.
12:00 PM Equipment has
been, pulled, prepped, and frequency-coordinated for the event
location.
1:00 PM The rental team
member meets the client at the downtown location to integrate
the system into the existing installation. All equipment
and cabling must be hidden away in cabinets. The system is
then optimized for use with the ceiling speakers.
The meeting goes off successfully, and clients
are happy with both the gear and TC Furlong staff.
Every day, the dedicated team members at TC
Furlong are on the job taking care of your audio needs. We
hope you never have a show related emergency, but if you do,
know that the EAR Team at TC Furlong will do
everything it can to solve your problem no matter when or
where it may be.
If you have a Show Related
Emergency call us any time. If it is after our normal
office hours, please call our 24 hour paging service at
800-676-4292. This number is also available on our
after-hours phone message, is printed on the bottom of every
rental contact, and can be found on the Rental page of our
